Brandi Forté

Brandi has been shaping educational experiences in California and New York since 2004. As a founding teacher at Community Roots—a Roots ConnectED learning site—she taught grades K–5, collaborated with diverse teams, and built deep connections with students, families, and colleagues. Her work has spanned multiple roles, from literacy coach supporting veteran educators and school leaders, to guiding the learning and development of student teachers, their supervisors and mentor teachers in a teaching residency program at Teachers College, Columbia University through curriculum design and professional development.
In her role as Program Developer and Project Manager at Roots ConnectED, Brandi designs curriculum, tools, and resources grounded in our Anti-Bias framework. She supports coach development, strengthens staff learning, and adapts programming to the unique needs of diverse educational communities. Brandi brings an innovative lens to data gathering that drives continued work and honors growth. Her approach blends strategic thinking with an unwavering focus on creating meaningful shared experiences that move communities toward their goals.
Beyond her professional work, Brandi volunteers in global education efforts that promote impartiality and practical acts of love. Living in communities outside the U.S. has given her lasting bonds and a deep appreciation for perspectives different from her own. She believes that lasting change begins on a personal level—with humility, connection, and shared responsibility.
