Marissa Munoz is a nonprofit leader, helping mission-driven institutions optimize their social impact, transforming strategic visions into measurable impact. With experience working in non-profit organizations and government institutions, Marissa has spent her career designing and leading equity-driven youth and community programs, building coalitions and advocacy campaigns, and fostering partnerships to advance opportunities for people of ages and abilities in under-resourced communities. Marissa believes that Roots ConnectED’s mission supports a more equitable world. Looking more closely at inequity's roots helps shape the anti-bias lens needed to create more sound policies and programs that grow more welcoming and inclusive environments where individuals and communities can thrive. Her career has centered on educational equity in K-12 and higher education, leading program and advocacy efforts for the College Board, New York City Department of Education, Hispanic Federation, and Young Invincibles. Marissa was recently the Senior Vice President, Community Impact for the New York Road Runners, where she oversaw development, youth and community programs, and community engagement. Marissa holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MPA from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
