Creating Staff Equity Groups Course

This course is designed for any group of folks at the school, district, or network level looking to develop or sustain a staff equity group to support faculty with both the personal and collective transformation needed to lead with equity.  The course is designed to support the internal functioning of the group and prepare it for leading meaningful professional development for their community.

Goals:

  • Participants will understand the various components necessary for developing and sustaining a staff equity group.

  • Participants will create a plan of action for the development of a staff equity group at their school site. 

  • Participants will understand a framework for staff professional development and adjust the framework to best meet the needs of their school site. 

  • Participants will engage in community building and through an  anti-bias lens that can be adjusted for their own school sites. 

Logistics:

  • The six sessions below are approximately 90-120 minutes each.  

  • Participants must be able to attend all sessions and commit to doing work in between sessions.

  • These sessions are designed for 3-9 participants; If more members are part of the staff equity team, this will impact the pricing.

Prior to the sessions outlined below, there will be a meeting with the project liaison at the school/organization site to determine the entry point for the team and develop a deeper understanding of the site.  At the culmination of the sessions, there will be a reflection meeting with the project liaison to determine a plan of action for next steps.
