Sholeh Sisson

Sholeh Sisson has worked with elementary, middle school, and high school students for the past 10 years in various educational settings. For the last five years, she has focused her energies on supporting children of refugee families come to realize their potential to be agents for change in their homes, schools and neighborhoods. Sholeh’s experience working with young people and their families has helped her develop the ability to accompany and work alongside people of varying ages and cultural backgrounds. As the Program Assistant for Roots ConnectED, Sholeh provides a range of administrative support to all the staff, coaches, and workshop facilitators, so that we can all better meet the needs of the school communities and organizations that we partner with.  Through her previous work, she has gained the capacity to approach projects systematically, thoughtfully, and with patience. In the schools and neighborhoods, she has worked in, being proficient in planning, coordinating, and facilitating events, big and small was essential, and she brings that experience with her here to RootsConnectED. With her BA in the Humanities, and her lived experience, she joins Roots ConnectED with the shared belief of the importance of justice in creating a better world for future generations.
