The Space Between

A Continuing Community for Educators & Practitioners

You’ve already been part of the work.

This is a space to continue it.

The Space Between is an ongoing community open to educators, leaders, and practitioners who have already participated in a Roots ConnectED experience.

Because so much of the real work happens:

  • Between learning and implementation.

  • Between programs and partnerships.

  • Between isolation and community.

It happens while trying something new in your classroom or organization. While navigating challenges will colleagues, students, and families. While reflecting, adjusting, questioning, and continuing to grow.

The Space Between was created to support that part of the journey.

This is not a one-time workshop or standalone PD experience. It’s a space to stay connected to other practitioners who are actively doing the work— people who understand the complexity, possibility, and humanity of building inclusive and connected communities.

What’s Included

  • Throughout the year, members will gather for interactive virtual sessions designed to deepen learning through real practice and collective wisdom.

These gatherings will feature educators, school leaders, and practitioners sharing what they are learning, navigating, and building in their own contexts.

    Topics include:

    • Strengthening Team Collaboration.

    • Planning for Neurodiversity.

    • Raising Up Staff Leaders.

    • Supporting Students & Families Facing Crisis  (legal status and rights, housing instability, and other urgent realities impacting school communities).

Sessions are designed to create space to:

    • Learn from practitioners actively in the work.

    • Ask questions and exchange ideas.

    • Explore challenges honestly.

    • Share tools, resources, and approaches.

    • Continue deepening practice over time.

This is an opportunity to stay connected to a wider community of educators who care deeply about belonging, equity, community-building, and justice-centered practice.

  • Membership also includes access to an online hub for discussion and resources where participants can:

    • Ask questions between sessions.

    • Share tools and resources.

    • Continue conversations from institutes, coaching, and learning cohorts.

    • Seek support and feedback from fellow practitioners.

    • Stay connected to Roots ConnectED programming and resources.

The goal is to create a living community of practice—not just a series of sessions.

Who is this for?

The Space Between is open exclusively to people who have previously participated in Roots ConnectED programming, including:
